What a lovely & heart-felt afternoon at RW Park this month with the extended Theberge Family.

  A Mom & Dad with their three grown children, two grandchildren and a very thoughtful daughter-in-law.... some afternoon sunshine and a few leaves left on the trees made for a good & easy photo session.

3 Little Cuties

A gorgeous sunny Saturday morning at Roger Williams Park in Providence for Jen, Steve & their three little girls.  Three is the number this year for this family .... three girls and the third time I have photographed them!

I have to say a little something about Steve & Jen ... for as much as they have going on between three little girls (and one big dog at home) ... they are calm, cool and collected!  For many of the families I meet, it is typically the husbands that are the most impatient when it comes to taking family pictures.

  ((And I will add that MY husband is at the top of my list for most impatient!!))

When it comes time to scheduling and going through with family pictures, nerves get in the way, it can be a stressful time for Moms  - kids aren't smiling, husbands are wondering how quickly they can get back to what they would rather be doing on a weekend, wondering what the score of the game is.  

You get my point .... BUT what I wanted to add here about Jen & Steve is that they are so easy-going and Steve is one of the Dads I have photographed this year that is the most go-with-the-flow and smile for the family photos kind of Dad.  I can think of a few others that would top my list --- and in thinking about it, all of those same easy-going Dads are all linked in some way or another through their work or their wives.  :) 

I guess I have picked a great group of clients -- or rather a great group of clients have picked me! 
And I am humbly thankful for it.

Jenn & Ryan ~ Engagement Session Preview

I met with Jenn & Ryan this past Sunday morning at Roger Williams Park in Providence for their Engagement photo session.  

Jenn & Ryan are getting married next May in Western Massachusetts and I am honored & excited to be their photographer!  It will be my first "official" wedding -- can't wait!

The Engagement Session is a great time to get to know Jenn & Ryan and for Jenn & Ryan to get to know me & my photography style.  We shared many laughs (some loud and some silent smiles) and a few jokes (I need to work on my delivery, I think and get some new material before the wedding) while walking around the Park.  

I even managed to make Ryan feel comfortable enough to take off his hat for some of the pictures and genuinely smile.  

(See!  They came out GREAT!)

"OHF ~ Wines For The Heart" Preview

It was a beautiful night at The Chanler at Cliff Walk in Newport, RI last Thursday, October 14, 2010.

Julie & Peter Ostiguy and Olivia's Heart Fund put up quite the fundraising event to benefit Congenital Heart Defect research.  The event was a wine tasting of countless reds & whites and a silent auction with items ranging from wine gifts/packages, autographed sports memorabilia, spa packages, private wine tastings, photography sessions (!), framed art, concert tickets, and a Newport Getaway package.

It was truly my humble pleasure to be a part of the night & Olivia's Heart Fund.

Amazing people can do amazing things.

The food - and the wines! - were delicious!  

I wished I had more time to sample the elegant & yummy spread!

Olivia would have been 2 years old this past weekend.

Her legacy and spirit will go on and research for all the other babies & kids with CHD will remain in her honor.

August & September Clients that have still not yet ordered from their session have until October 25, 2010 before their gallery closes.  Orders places after 10/25/10 are subject to a $20 processing charge to keep their galleries open.

 

New package set up & pricing coming soon for 201.  All 2011 packages will include at least 5 high resolution images on CD and $$ toward print credits.  I can't wait to share these great new packages!!

And don't forget - returning clients get % off their 1st 2011 session AND as always receive a free 8x10 for being a return client and referring new clients to RitzyPics :)

New England Fall Family Preview

I was able to scoot up to NH and Maine a few weeks ago and take pictures of these two awesome families.... who also happen to be my nieces & nephews, sisters and brothers.   These are some adorable kids, a beautiful tween, a handsome HS junior and a photogenic 22 year old who I still see as a cute little 4 year old girl.

Happy October! HOLIDAY CARD SAMPLES

Okay, so we're already a week into October.
WOW!  This year is flying by!!
I am already talking about ordering HOLIDAY CARDS!
Crazy!

And speaking of crazy -- I have been all out crazy busy here working hard each night, burning the midnight oil.  And at 2AM.  3AM.  Up at 4AM & 5AM and putting in 18-20 hour days planning for 2011, editing, working on galleries, learning a new photo editing software (Oh, how I LOVE Aperture but curse at it at times!) and planning out my remaining fall family sessions and an egagement session.  OH, and did I mention I was away 2 weekends in a row to do family fall sessions in New Hampshire and Maine and the next weekend assisting a friend and fellow rock-star photographer with her first official wedding way up in the hills and springs of Maine.  RitzyPics has been B.U.S.Y.

And.
I love it.
As crazy & busy and sleep deprived as I am right now, I am loving it.
I almost feels like having a newborn again!  :)
Since starting my business nearly 3.5 years ago back in Michigan, this is the busiest I have been.
It's great  -- and I have BIG plans and new ideas for 2011.
