D, P & Baby Grace | Spring Family Session at Roger Williams Park

We had a fabulous sunny spring morning for a family photo session as Baby Grace marked her 6-month birthday :)  Even Fitz the pup in on some of the action!

It was such a pleasure to (finally) meet Doreen, Parker and Grace ... as this session was a baby shower gift from a family friend.  Baby Grace was sweet and happy and enjoyed all the sights and sounds of a busy morning at the park... she even got to experience the feel of grass on her piggy toes!

Spring!

Wow ... it's been a LONG time since I last blogged here. I definitely have some work to catch up on, but in the meantime, I want to share a quick sneak peek from last weekend's family session.

 

 

Karen, Matt, Dylan and I had a great morning at Roger Williams park -- and after having to delay our session at least 4 times due to weather and sickness, I am glad we had a perfect spring morning after all :)

Sweet Baby L | Massachusetts & Rhode Island Baby & Family Photography

I had the utmost pleasure in meeting the most lovely family today. 

It was my pleasure and such an honor to have been able to capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment for this young, new family.

Sweet Baby L was a dream to photograph and she was so well behaved and put up with us as she played with her :)  Being able to capture this little miracle while she's still so tiny is something G & J will always have to look back on as Baby L gets older. 

It was wonderful meeting you, G&J, and your sweet family ... I can't wait to show you more!

I had the great pleasure of meeting with a new family yesterday morning ... and the best was that she was referred to me by another wonderful family.  (Thanks, Jessica!)

The H Family is full of energy and love for their little sweetheart of a boy ... who was ALL boy and busybusybusy as he enjoyed showing me his stash of acorns, rocks, trees and how to play in water.

We had a fun session chasing little J. around and going with his ideas for some of the photos :)

With so many to choose from it was hard to select a few to preview!

Multi-Family Morning at the Park!

Two posts in one day?!
I must be procrastinating something :)  Like packing for the family for a week's vacation!  My book, editing, hot tea, FaceBook and emails keep calling out to me rather than the laundry and suitcases!

BUT, I promised Jessica I would be able to get a quick preview up on the blog for her family ... so here I am :) 

I first met Jessica over 3 years at a picnic I photographed and have since captured memories for her family as well as one of her sister's.  It was a joy to see the little ones that I have photographed over the last few years in 2009 & in 2011 and see how much the little boy cousins have grown -- and to meet the newborn again that is now a spirited curly redhead and Jessica's two new little sweeties.

Jessica organized her two sisters and their families and their parents for a morning of family photos at Roger Williams Park last weekend.

Thank you for having me (and my awesome partner/helper/friend, Mary) capture your families memories.   Here is a quick preview from each family mini-session.

Spring 2012

Wow .... nearly 5 months since I last posted here!
And what a busy 5 months it has been.

This has been the Spring of Events this year ... Nursing School Pinning Ceremonies, Birthday Parties, Conventions, Military Homecomings, Conferences, Fundraising Galas and Concerts.

With the ease of posting updates & pictures and previews to FaceBook, I tend to not update the blog and website as often.

I am excited with Summer here (and Fall around the corner) ... that means family sessions at the beach and local parks!  A busy but fun time of year of photographers but so worth it when I see the holiday cards from clients with memories I captured for them showcased :)

One Month Old | Massachusetts & Rhode Island Newborn Baby and Family Photography

I met with Beth & Peter and their sweet new baby boy at their home late last month when lil' Henry was just one month old.  He was wide awake & alert throughout the session.  I just love the family moments we were able to capture.

Baby.Love | Massachusettes & Rhode Island Newborn Family Photography

I had the pleasure of meeting a new young family last weekend .. and got a 2 hour fill on newborn baby boy sweetness.  My guys are 5 & 7 and I forget how tiny & precious they are.  It was as much as treat for me as it was, I hope, for little MJ's family :)

At Rachel's baby shower she was given a gift certificate from a family friend from RitzyPics and I was able to photograph their sweet two week old at their home.  Here are some of the previews of MJ's first photo session.  He was wide awake the whole time and was calm and mellow, going with the flow and enjoyed being cuddled by his mom and dad.

Happy New Year!

RitzyPics is off to an exciting and busy start for January!
I am photographing three events and one bitty.baby newborn all within the next two weeks.

It may be cold (but not snowy...) outside but I will be keeping busy and warm photographing & editing inside this month!

Brightmans @ the Beach | Narragansett, Rhode Island Family & Children Beach Photographer

I met Jen & Steve, their three girls and their pup Buddy at the beach in Narragansett last month for my last beach session of the year.   The beach was ready for winter with fences along the dunes and an empty beach.  The sun was shining bright and it was a bit windy ... but Jen and Steve were up for the session - especially after it was already rescheduled due to weather a few weeks prior when the wind gusts were over 30mph! 

The first ten minutes of our session was GREAT!  The girls, who have known me for over 18 months now, were sweet & smiley and up for pictures.  However, after about 10-15 minutes the lure of the ocean, sand, rocks and shells grabbed their attention more so than looking at my camera and smiling on cue.

For the next hour Jen & Steve jumped, danced, sang and who knows what else behind me as we urged the girls to all look - just look! - at the camera at the same time.  

All in all it was a fun session and we definitely showcased the girls' personalities and the reality of life & family with three little ones ages 4, 3 and 1!  

I have said it before, both Jen and Steve are two of the most patient and go.with.the.flow parents I have met.  Photo sessions can be very stressful for parents -- and kiddos can sense that!  The pressure for the "perfect picture" is there.  Despite the list of poses and shot and ideas both Jen and I had for their beach session, it just did not happen as we both had envisioned, but it was nonetheless successful or fun.
